The president of MauiGrown Coffee in Lahaina just went on an exotic trip to help put Maui coffee on the world map.

 “I went to Sanaa, Yemen, for the Arabica Naturals Conference last month,” says Falconer. “I spoke at the conference about the Mokka coffee variety we grow here on Maui that actually originated in Yemen. While there is an Al Qaeda presence there, it was a safe and interesting trip.”

The photo Falconer provided really speaks to what the Yemenese culture considers "dressing up" for business. “The jambia sword is their equivalent of our tie,” he says.
